And thats how it's done!

I was one of the thousands of people who gathered at the SSPMS ground to watch Ajay and Atul perform. WHAT A SHOW!
‘Ajay Atul Live’, organized by Shivranjani Avious with Paranjape Schemes and Eiffel Group, had eminent personalities grace the occasion. Even the MNS chief Raj Thackeray was present.
A huge stage, with 200 musicians and the best singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Kunal Ganjawala, Swapnil Bandodkar, Vaishali Samant Amruta Natu and Yogita Godbole. It was all so amazing. The Shivgarjana Troupe with ‘Dhol opened with ‘Jai Shivaji’. ‘Morya Morya’ was fantastic!
Then there were Lavani performances by Sonalee Kulkarni on ‘Apsara Aali’ and Amruta Khanvilkar with ‘Vajale ki Bara’. Anand Shinde and Vaishali Samant with ‘Kombdi Palali’, Cham Cham Karta’, Kunal Ganjawala with ‘Sade Made teen’, ‘chya maay la’ were a few of the foot tapping performances. Shankar Mahadevan with his track from ‘Vishwavinayak’, the international musical bestseller and ‘Man Udhan Varyache’ wooed the crowd with his recital.
This event was held in aid of Swapnabhooni of the Socio Economic Development Trust [SEDT]. Suryakant Kulkarni, Ashish & Ajinkya Kulkarni accepted the donation on behalf of their trust at the hands of Ajay & Atul and Nitin Vaidya of Shivranjani Avious. Also seen on stage were the sponsors of the show, Shashank & Shrikant Paranjape of Paranjape Schemes and Rahul & Vishal Nahar of the Eiffel Group.
Needless to say, I now have a musical hangover! Guys! I mean.. these guys are A M A Z I N G !!

Glimpses

I caught a glimpse of Ajay Atul outside the Balgandharva on Jangli Maharaj Road. They were attending a Patrakar Din function wherein they were felicitated for their music. Frankly, Im sure the media loves them as they have the best music and news always. Music happens for a reason and they have a beautiful meaning always.
I did try to tug the crowd to say 'Hi' myself. I was greeted by the simplest of smiles by Ajay and wave by Atul. I could have flipped my heart beat then. :)
I wish I get a chance to meet them just once.

Natarang

Zee Talkies is now talking big about one of the most awaited releases of Marathi silver screen to welcome the New Year.

Natrang is a movie with a stunning cast and an equally outstanding script. Atul Kulkarni, a national award winning actor has literally thrown his weight around in the movie filming process… and in a good way too! He gained 15kgs and then lost 17kgs for shooting various parts of the film, and all this in just over a month.

The story is based on Anand Yadav’s novel and talks about the journey of a backward farmer in pursuit of his dreams of becoming a king – albeit in Marathi Tamasha.

Of course, the music is composed by none other than my favourite duo – Ajay Atul. I am eagerly awaiting the marvelous mix of the biggest talent in the Marathi film industry… Point: I dedicate the Apsara Aali song to myself :)

Divine experience

Ajay Atul released their CD on Ganesha Symphonic Chants Experience. Without hesitation, I can say on behalf of millions of other loyal fans like me, that this was truly wonderful composition… Who could have the confidence to make such melody out of established devotional music but Ajay Atul?

I have many friends abroad who are of the same opinion. In fact, they say that over there, in case of any festivals, they keep looking out for contemporary music that is still in the bhakti flavour. Now that they have these fantastic songs in praise of Ganesha, it has truly added a modern touch to our Indian celebrations abroad without losing the serenity of our traditions.

Hats Off to the duo for taking such a great musical step…
